The 13-second version

Someone holds a phone to their mouth like a voice message and asks, dead serious: "ChatGPT, how I become a millionaire in 30 days?" The answer comes back: "Get a job." They stare at the screen, turn to whoever is filming and say "Bro, what are they talking about?", then type furiously and try again: "ChatGPT, what if you don't want to get a job and you want to be a millionaire?"

The 13-second skit, acted out in one of the AI remixes.

That's the whole meme. You'll see it called the ChatGPT millionaire trend, the "Get a job" meme, the "How I become a millionaire in 30 days" meme or simply "chat gbt millionaire", after the spelling in the original caption.

Where it came from

The skit is the opening of a comedy reel posted on Instagram on September 18, 2026, captioned "That one dude who ask ChatGBT everything". In it, a guy fires silly questions at his phone, and the first one, about becoming a millionaire in 30 days, is the one that stuck.

On October 12, 2026 the first AI versions appeared on TikTok: the same moves, timing and voice, with someone new asking the question. Two days later, AI versions with friends, coworkers and dogs were pulling hundreds of thousands of views each, CapCut templates showed up, and the #chatgptmillionairetrend hashtag took off. Search interest for "how I become a millionaire" in the US roughly tripled in a few days.

Why "Get a job." is the joke

Every ad, course and "passive income" video promises that AI will make you rich. The skit flips it: the one time somebody asks the chatbot directly, it gives the most boring, sensible advice possible, and the person asking takes it as a personal insult. The flat three-word answer against the big, confident question is the whole punchline, which is why it works with any face that would plausibly ask it.

The versions people make

  • That one friend. The friend with a new money plan every week (dropshipping, crypto, the course that "changed everything"), usually posted in the group chat.
  • Pets. A dog or a cat standing on its hind legs, asking the phone for the 30-day plan. Hearing "Get a job" is the first real feedback it has ever had.
  • Yourself, the day before payday. The most relatable version.
  • Cartoon you. A cartoon version of yourself is a favourite too.
  • Border collie
  • Dachshund in a vest
  • Dog in a hoodie
Three pet remixes from the trend.

How the AI version works

AI video models can take a photo as the reference for who is on screen, plus a script for what happens. The model builds a new, short vertical clip: you (or your pet), a phone to the mouth, the phone answering out loud, the offended stare. Our ChatGPT millionaire AI generator does all of that from one photo. Pick one of five scenes (the original parking lot, the office, a mansion driveway, the beach or a 3 a.m. gaming bedroom) and a quality, and you get a 13-second, watermark-free MP4 in a few minutes. The lines are spoken and lip-synced. The step-by-step version is in our guide on how to make the ChatGPT millionaire AI video.

What people search for

  • "ChatGPT millionaire AI video" and "how I become a millionaire AI video": a tool that makes the whole clip from a photo
  • "Get a job meme" and "ChatGPT get a job meme": the original skit and the remakes
  • "How to become a millionaire in 30 days ChatGPT": the question itself, asked for real or for the joke
  • "ChatGPT millionaire meme script": the exact lines, all written above

Can ChatGPT actually make you a millionaire in 30 days?

No, and that's the joke. Ask a real AI assistant the same question and you'll get a longer, more polite version of the same answer: there's no reliable way to make a million dollars in a month, and the sensible path starts with income, which usually means a job.

How long will the trend last?

Meme formats like this usually peak within one to three weeks, then settle into a long tail of birthday posts, group-chat roasts and pet videos. The AI remakes started in mid-October 2026, so the window to ride the wave is now.

Using the trend responsibly

The original reel and its sound belong to their creator. When you post, add the trending sound inside TikTok or Reels instead of re-uploading audio. Only use photos you own or have permission to use, never photos of minors, and don't put real people in a video without their consent. Label your post as AI-generated, and don't present it as a real conversation with ChatGPT.
